Lesson Plans

My teaching style is a mix of various music education philosophies, drawing largely from Orff, Kodaly, and Dalcroze. An awareness of who makes up the class before me -- interests, ability levels, and special concerns -- is also important.

I bring music to students by connecting to relevant things in their lives. My lessons involve various types of learning, and include singing, listening, movement, instrument playing, and theory.

Classes begin with a warm-up routine, focusing students and building vocal skills. Time is spent practicing concepts and skills, and each lesson is brought to closure. Evaluation, formal and informal, is ongoing.
